AIDS TO PREPARE FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS
In preparing for Civil Service exams, you may need to brush up on basic skills, particularly math and grammar. There are several Websites that offer tutorials on math and grammar. Listed below are suggested sites, with a brief description of what you will find. There are links to other sites, which you might find helpful. Some sites are interactive, with practice questions and quizzes. You may go directly to the Website by double-clicking on it from this page, or you may copy the URL for use at a later time.
The sites listed below are checked monthly and updated as needed. There have been times when the site was closed because it was being reconfigured. Try another Website. You may also use a general search engine to find other Websites with information and tutorials to help you prepare.
If you do not have access to Internet services at home or at a place
where you can practice, you may go to one of these locations for computer use:

MATH

offers explanations, quizzes, and questions appropriate for advanced
mathematics. It also has links to other sites. Click on the word
representing the area in which you want help.
http://forum.swarthmore.edu -- This site is developed mainly for teachers and students. It has some practice pages and listings of other resources. Click on Dr. Math to access information about specific arithmetic and mathematical topics.
http://www.aaamath.com/free.html A good user-friendly site! It has information that is presented in an understandable format with practice questions and quizzes.
http://www.mathpower.com/ -- This site is more complex than the others. You may access the desired space by typing in the Search space. Try Dr. Freedman's Math tutorials; there are word problems with answers and rationales.
LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR

Britain grammar). There are quizzes (non-interactive) as well as information.
http://ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/-- you will have to type this address in. It is a GREAT site with easy-to-understand rules and good quizzes.

rules of grammar in very concise form.
