This is a recap of information important to testing and advisement for the
Fall, 2007 Semester:
Testing:
There is no charge for testing.
Bring a picture ID. Calculators are not needed as there are no math questions on the test.
Testing begins at 8:30 AM and lasts until approximately 11:30 AM UNLESS otherwise noted. You need to be seated for the test at the time it is to begin.
Testing must be completed prior to being advised/registered. There should be approximately two weeks between the testing and advisement dates.
If you are unable to attend your testing session you will need to call the CAS office to reschedule (618-536-6646). If you have not completed the testing process approximately two weeks or more before your scheduled advisement appointment, the advisement appointment will automatically be canceled. When you reschedule the testing appointment you may also need to reschedule the advisement appointment.
Time permitting, you will receive a letter of confirmation regarding date, place and time for your testing session. A location map will also be included.
Advisement
You must be registered for SOAR before CAS can schedule your advisement appointment. CAS WILL NOT make an advisement appointment until SOAR registration is confirmed by our office staff. This requirement applies to advisement by phone, in-person at the CAS office on campus, or advisement at the Chicago area location.
Again, your Advisement Appointment will be canceled if testing has not been completed.
Time permitting, you will receive a letter of confirmation regarding the date, place and time for your advisement appointment. A map will also be included for the Carbondale and Chicago area locations.
It is very important that you register NOW for SOAR. USE THE SOAR REGISTRATION FORM WHICH YOU RECEIVED IN YOUR ORIGINAL SIUC ADMISSION PACKET OR REGISTER ONLINE AT www.SOAR.siu.edu. All questions regarding SOAR should be directed to the SOAR Program at 618-453-1000.
