Center for Academic Success Orientation

CAS ORIENTATION

There is also a session for students enrolled through the Center for Academic Success.  It will be on Saturday, August 16th from 10am till Noon in the Student Center Ballroom D.  Meet with some of the people who care about your success.  Staff from the Center for Academic Success and other University programs will introduce students and families to their services and offer activities to get students started on the journey to success.  The Center for Academic Success Orientation will give students and parents the opportunity to meet with CAS instructors, component coordinators, Academic Coaches and staff.  A brief overview of the CAS components will be presented by staff members and will allow students and parents to become more acquainted with the services available to them during the semester.  Also during the Orientation, there will be representatives from campus offices, i.e., Financial Aid, Career Services, presenting information which will be beneficial to our students.  Students and parents will have the opportunity to ask questions during these sessions or may meet with the representatives after the orientation.

FAMILY ORIENTATION

During New Student Orientation, parents are encouraged to participate in SIUC’s family orientation program.  Administrators talk with parents about developmental changes students may experience during their first year at college.  Parents are also encouraged to attend the CAS session.
